I play a lot of hard rock and metal music, and I prefer Zildjian Z custom’s. I have a 16″ and 17″ rock crashes, 14″ hi-hats, 18″ china, 12″ splatter, and 20″ ride, all Z custom, and I like them. They are excellent and loud and cut through just about anything. When I brought them to the studio the first time, all of my band mates had to start wearing ear plugs (which they never did before). Plus you can bash the sh@t out of them, and they have a hard time cracking. I suggest aquarian cymbal springs for live situations, they really save your cymbals. They aren’t so excellent for recording, but for live, nothing beats them. Hope that helps.
