I play a lot of hard rock and metal music, and I prefer Zildjian Z custom’s. I have a 16″ and 17″ rock crashes, 14″ hi-hats, 18″ china, 12″ splatter, and 20″ ride, all Z custom, and I like them. They are excellent and loud and cut through just about anything. When I brought them to the studio the first time, all of my band mates had to start wearing ear plugs (which they never did before). Plus you can bash the sh@t out of them, and they have a hard time cracking. I suggest aquarian cymbal springs for live situations, they really save your cymbals. They aren’t so excellent for recording, but for live, nothing beats them. Hope that helps.

I would use Google Scholar and try out the tab for news articles. Type your phrase directly into the search box. Also just try sections of your phrase like “music scene and like songs” use the connecters “and, or, with, “

About the Boys & Girls Club of the Suncoast:
The Boys & Girls Clubs of America movement came to Pinellas County in November 1959 with the founding of the Boys Club of Pinellas Park by Police Chief Maurice L. MacTarsney and Margret “Peg” Nunn. The Club started operating in January 1960 in an ancient frame building leased from the City of Pinellas Park with its first executive director, James S Hart Jr. The Boys Clubs of Pinellas, Inc. was chartered in August 1967 when its second club opened at the Northside location in St. Petersburg. In May 1970, at the urging of both the United Way and the Boys Clubs of America, the Boys Clubs of Pinellas County, Inc. was organized. In 1991, the Boys Clubs of Pinellas County opened its programs to all youth, forming Boys & Girls Clubs of the Suncoast (BGCS), as we know it today, now with eleven locations. BGCS, under the leadership of Carl R. Lavender, Jr. has the goal “to influence the behavior and the attitudes of each individual boy and girl in a wholesome manner.” The sole purpose of BGCS is to provide children, youth, their families and the community opportunities for safe, structured, well supervised after school and summer youth programs, with an emphasis on leadership, education and self-sufficiency. The organization has proven its commitment to service for children and community members with innovative and progressive programming and opportunities. Supporters of Boys & Girls Clubs include regime politicians, law enforcement agency representatives, financial institutions, and education boards, among other worried citizens. Question by Mathematician: What defines and characterizes a music band?
I want to know what defines and characterizes a music band. I am not interested in a glossary definition since they tend to be simplistic and not very thorough.
Please be as detailed as possible, and include any elements and properties that should be present in a band.
Thankfulness in advance.

Well this Seems like a VERY open finished question. So i’m gong to give a very broad resolution.
A ‘Band’ consists of more than 1 persons in who perform/confirmation music. This is uncommon than a composer/producer who controls everything. The individual band members usually get more of a say in the composition and tone of their instruments, as opposed to a symphony who do everything as it is on paper for them to do.
Also, the band should usually consist of 1 or more members on each of the following categories of instruments:
Bass
Rhythm
lead/melody
now the way that these part are carried out are uncommon in uncommon genres. In a modern Rock/Pop Setting it would usually be as follows:
Bass- Bass guitar Player
Rhythm- Bassist, Guitarist, Drummer, Keyboardist
Lead- Guitarist, Keyboardist, Singer
But this is not set in marble. It really Could be any combination of instruments as long as it is possible to do what category they are in(you probably don’t want a normal Guitarist doing the bass line with a fender strat 6 string, or haveing the drums be the melody(although possible, it’s not usually ideal)).
One thing to keep in mind, is that if you leave out one of the 3 vital categories(Bass, Rhythm, Lead), then the composition usually will not sound fleshed out or full. Like tiresome to start a band lacking a capability of bass. If you had just a Ukulele, a high pitched singer, and someone on the ‘cowbell’ (not a full drumset… a single cowbell), you would have somthing that has NO lowend to the music and a really muddled sound because all the sounds would be of the same frequencies and would conflict with eachother.
So, i hope this helps

Hip-hop doesn’t transcribe very well for marching band, but if you’re looking for modern pop arrangements, try out J.W. Pepper.
Edit: If you don’t like Pepper, then transcribe the songs yourself. Or, in case you don’t know how to arrange, you could pay me to do it instead for the discounted rate of $ 150 per song.

Eclectic, Electric: Composer, Violinist and Musical Entrepreneur Nina DiGregorio Rocks Yamaha
Indianapolis, Ind. (PRWEB) January 12, 2012
Yamaha Artist Services Indianapolis is pleased to announce the signing of Nina DiGregorio, founder, lead violinist and musical arranger of the innovative rock quartet Bella Electric Strings. A pioneer of the electric violin, DiGregorio plays and owns a diverse arsenal of Yamaha electric string products, including the Yamaha SV-255. DiGregorio’s illustrious career started at age six, with classical piano training that soon morphed into a lifelong like of stringed instruments. Her impressive talent led to her first concert solo at age 14, which she performed with the Niagara Symphony Orchestra. DiGregorio obtained a Bachelor of Music from the State Academe of New York at Hoodwink, where she served as concertmaster for the academe’s orchestra and earned numerous coveted solo appearances. She also obtained an MM in violin.
Her fascination and experimentation with electric instruments like the Yamaha Silent Violin led to ongoing engagements as a traveling demo specialist, educating orchestra directors and students on the uses, techniques, sound effects and the makings of these new tools.
“The one thing I wish I’d had when I was younger is an early knowledge of electric instruments,” recalls DiGregorio. “Their versatility is unparalleled and they inspire a higher level of creativity. They’re also incredibly practical,” she says, adding that the Silent Violin eliminates feedback issues associated with hollow bodied instruments. In addition, electric instruments allow her to go freely around a stage, can be used with pedals and offer better control of the sound.
According to DiGregorio, proficiency with Silent instruments can also expand an artist’s professional horizons. “When you consider how restricted the opportunities are in terms of making a living in music, it makes sense to make yourself as marketable as possible,” she clarification, adding, “you’ve got to be well-versed in many uncommon genres of music, as well as to sight read and improvise, particularly in rock and jazz.”
A self-proclaimed “accidental entrepreneur,” DiGregorio founded and currently fronts Bella Electric Strings, a highly successful performing ensemble. At the start conceived as a single group, Bella became so well loved that DiGregorio made a second group, both of which have busy performance schedules, sometimes gigging three or four times a day. To fuel this hectic performance activity, DiGregorio relies on her collection of Yamaha instruments – two electric cellos, two silent violins and five electric violins, citing their outstanding quality, durability and reliability.
Working as a solo artist and with her bands, and armed with her Yamaha instruments, DiGregorio has performed with legendary entertainers, including Jay-Z, Michael Buble and The Killers and just performed for President Obama. Next up for DiGregorio and Bella Electric Strings is a scintillating album with original music combining both rock and classical tunes.
